On Saturday, 13 April 2019, I was inducted in the Speakers Hall of Fame, the first woman to ever be honoured with this award in the 14 years since its inception. The award is made annually by the Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa (PSASA) for speaking excellence, and for being an industry icon among many other criteria.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way and been part of my speaking journey be it by attending my talks, booking me as a speaker for your organisation, buying my books, following my social media pages or just cheering me on. I could not have done this without you!
I am fortunate to truly love what I do and to have the privilege of the platform. I see the Speakers Hall of Fame award not as the end of a journey, but as a call to raise the bar, to live up to the award, to continue to inspire other, and more. It is a door to changing more lives on more continents. Please help me to do that.
“You deserve it, you are such a gift to this Association and the Continent … we value your love , commitment and most of all your humanity … you are an inspiration 🙏🏿” Billy Selekane, global business speaker, past president of the PSASA and fellow Speakers Hall of Fame inductee (SASHof).
The PSASA is an association for people who are in the business of speaking for a living whether they are keynoters, facilitators or trainers. We are all in the business of changing lives with our voices, our words and our stories. It is an organisation of eclectic individuals, a very unique tribe who come together to share best practice and provide a support base for each other. I am privileged to be a founding member.
The PSASA is one of 15 international speaker associations affiliated to the Global Speakers Federation.
In 2016 I became one of 600 speakers around the world to receive the Certified Speaking Professional accreditation through the National Speakers Association in the US. I was one of only 10 CSPs in South Africa at the time, and one of just four women to hold the accreditation.
“Long overdue. Well done. And so deserved.” Stef du Plessis, founder of the PSASA
“Nikki is a captivating, honest and brave speaker who is the consummate professional who will enhance any event. I can not recommend her highly enough.” Roger Harrop, The CEO Expert, award-winning motivational business growth speaker, Oxford, UK
“Nikki is an industry icon.” Douglas Kruger, award-winning international speaker fellow CSP and SASHof inductee.
